Frequently Asked Questions

What is Phitofilos herbal dye/hair colour?

Phitofilos herbal dyes are a 100% vegetal colour that is completely natural with no synthetic ingredients.

How is Phitofilos colour different to traditional colour?

  • Traditional colour uses a synthetic colour pigment that is oxidised by hydrogen peroxide.  Phitofilos herbal dyes are only mixed with water.  It bonds with the hair keratin to show colour on the surface of the cuticle where as traditional colour penetrates the cuticle by lifting the Ph to damage it so that the colour can then penetrate the hair shaft.

  • They never give a flat and unnatural colour. They play on the colour they rest on. Therefore, if they work on white they will faithfully restore the pigment of the plants, if they work on already coloured hair the result will be the sum between the pigment of the plant and the base pigment of the hair on which they rest.

  • On white hair , if well distributed, they can offer an effect of streaks of colour, which will give brightness to the hair and vivid and shiny reflections. In the case of areas with a high concentration of whites, on the other hand, the colour should be considered as a cover to harmonise the reflection with the rest of the hair and avoid the “colour spot” effect.

  • The full dyeing potential is obtained on the bleached hair, as the bleached hair has an open scale that tends to absorb the vegetable colour very quickly and intensely. Therefore, slower shutter speeds should be considered on bleached to avoid colours that are too intense and strong.

  • On permed or dyed hair they can give bland or zoned colours. So before applying the herbal dye it is always advisable to wait 2-3 weeks before or after the chemical dye or perm.

Who would be the target market for Phitofilos?

  • Those who are seeking a more natural colour solution.

  • Those who have suffered from a reaction to traditional synthetic colour pigment.

  • Those who are wanting to detox their body from toxins.
